Janine Scott, Senior Aesthetic Practitioner
Only performed by our in-house expert, Janine Scott, Silhouette Soft thread lifting is an effective treatment for facial sagging. This minimally invasive treatment involves skilfully inserting biodegradable Poly L-Lactic Acid threads under the skin. This material has a long history of use in the medical industry and is entirely re-absorbable. These special threads have cones along their length which act as scaffolding under the surface of the skin to lift sagging soft tissues.
The threads dissolve after 6-8 months. During this time they stimulate the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, thickening and strengthening the skin from within and improving elasticity so it retains a lifted appearance for up to 2 years post treatment. Silhouette Soft is the only treatment to combine these dual procedures in an unprecedented two-stage action.
What we love about Silhouette Soft thread lifting is that it can be carried out on a variety of areas including jowls, cheeks and neck. Renowned for her natural results, Janine will work with you to develop a bespoke treatment plan which will boost both your natural beauty and your confidence.
As this is a minimally invasive treatment only performed by a skilled practitioner, thread lifting at the Light Touch Clinic is a very comfortable treatment. In addition, topical local anaesthetic will be applied to the area in advance to make the treatment as comfortable as is possible.
Volume loss: As we get older muscles and fat diminish which can to facial sagging.
Loss of Elasticity: As we age, collagen and elastin production slows and skin loses elasticity which can contribute to sagging. In addition, UV damage can also speed up the breakdown of collagen and elastin.
Posture: Looking down frequently at mobiles, tablets and laptops shortens the neck muscles accelerating the formation of jowls. Take a look at Dr Natalie’s helpful blog post on beating tech neck to help improve your posture and take preventative action.

Silhouette Soft Jowl Lift
Unlike PDO threads, a Silhouette Soft jowl lift uses special threads made from polylactic acid. These threads feature cones which attach themselves to the surrounding tissues when inserted into the skin. Like PDO threads, this allows for an instant jowl lift with no surgery.
Due to their bidirectional cones, Silhouette Soft threads also have a biostimulation effect as they encourage collagen to build up around the thread. As the threads dissolve over the next 6 to 8 months, the area will become naturally lifted by the collagen your body has produced. This results in a natural, lifted look with long lasting results.
Does it hurt?
Topical anaesthetic is applied to the area before treatment to ensure that the procedure is as comfortable as possible. A very fine needle is used for the treatment to prevent discomfort.
What will my skin look like afterwards?
You may experience some mild bruising and tenderness at the injection sites. However, this will subside.
What happens after treatment?
We suggest you avoid strenuous exercise or any activity that may increase the blood pressure for at least 24 hours.
How long before I see results?
Results are usually visible immediately and may last up to 2 years depending on the individual.
What are the risks and complications?
All non-invasive procedures carry a small amount of risk which is why they are only administered after a face-to-face consultation with one of our doctors during which a full assessment will be carried out and a full list of cautions and contraindications discussed.
