Teoxane dermal fillers are FDA-approved and are proven to offer safe and effective results when handled by a highly trained and experienced aesthetician. Our specialists put the safety and welfare of their patients at the heart of every single treatment.
For patients who are perhaps a little reluctant or worried about their treatments, we do offer an optional numbing cream to help with the discomfort. With that said, most patients do find that this isn’t necessary as the needles we use are extremely fine and any trauma to the skin as a result of dermal filler treatments is minor, to say the least.
Your newly lifted skin will be noticeable immediately, but don’t be alarmed if the results are slightly more dramatic than expected as swelling is likely to occur. It’s important that you allow up to 2-3 days for any side effects to subside, such as swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness. During this time you may resume your daily routine, simply take extra care not to irritate the treatment area. After your skin has settled, you should be able to enjoy your results for up to 12 months.
It is highly unlikely that dermal fillers should cause any serious reactions, other than the typical side effects mentioned above. With that said, on very rare occasions this type of injectable treatment can lead to lumpy skin, infection, minor scarring, and blocked blood vessels. These risks are discussed during your consultation process but are nothing to worry about on the whole, just something to bear in mind.
