Dr Natalie Blakely, Medical Director of the Light Touch Clinic.
Mesotherapy is a non-surgical yet powerful skin rejuvenating therapy in which a cocktail of anti-ageing ingredients are injected into the middle (meso) layer of skin through hundreds of micro-injections where they influence cell regeneration, collagen production and micro-circulation. The procedure has been used with great success in Europe for over 50 years to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and cellulite*.
A delicately balanced formula of components that are vital for healthy skin, including vitamins, amino acids and minerals, are introduced to the skin with mirconeedling. The formula then begins to tackle cellulite, improve circulation and breaks down damaged tissue that could be causing dull and sagging skin*.
Mirco-needling is directly applied to the patient’s problem area. As the procedure is a non-invasive most patients don’t feel any pain during this process* but may experience a slight pinching or burning sensation.
Treatments last around 45 minutes with most patients seeing visible results after two or three sessions*. To maintain results, it is recommended patients have top-up sessions twice a year.
As well as being able to reduce cellulite and wrinkles, Mesotherapy can also treat skin pigmentation caused by an over or under production of melanin. These are miss-coloured areas of skin that resemble a large freckle. They are also sometimes referred to as age spots or liver spots.

At the Light Touch Clinic we use a very fine needle or a mesotherapy gun to inject between eight and 16 minuscule shots of a cutting-edge blend of antioxidants and peptides (growth factors) into specific points on the face and body.
The ingredients are tailored to treat different conditions such as fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, stretch marks and cellulite. The nano-capsule deliver system means the ingredients are only released when they reach the heart of the cell membrane. This ensures they remain effective and deliver optimum results. People who have had Micro-Meso (or ‘skin-prick nutrition’) describe their skin as looking rested, radiant, glowing and firmer.
What does the treatment involve?
Multiple micro-injections are administered to the problem area.
Does it hurt?
You may feel a slight pinching or burning sensation, however we can provide a topical anaesthetic that makes the treatment relatively painless for most patients.
What will my skin look like afterwards?
A common side effect is mild swelling or bruising which generally resolves in one week for most patients.
How long before I see results?
On average, patients notice a visible improvement within 2-3 sessions. However, everyone is unique so you may see results a bit earlier or later. Results are usually maintained with twice-yearly touch up sessions.
What are the risks and complications?
All non-invasive procedures carry a small amount of risk which is why they are only administered after a face-to-face consultation with one of our practitioners during which a full assessment will be carried out and a full list of cautions and contraindications discussed.
Is Micro-Meso my only option?
No, there are several other treatments that may be more suitable for your concern including INTRAcel. Before you undergo any injectable treatment you will be invited for a consultation with one of our practitioners who will analyse your skin and help you decide which treatment option is most suitable.
