Dr Natalie Blakely, Medical Director of the Light Touch Clinic
We love to do lip filler at the Light Touch Clinic and pride ourselves on our subtle natural results – no slug lip or trout pouts here! All of our lip filler treatments are performed by Dr Natalie Blakely and Janine Scott RGN. Both practitioners have been featured in Tatler’s Guide to the Best Cosmetic Doctors and Nurses and have years of experience.
Particularly popular with our younger patients, lip filler can be used to gently plump lips for a more luscious lips. Our skilled practitioners will carefully inject the filler to add volume whilst maintaining the perfect ratio of upper to lower lip.
As we age, we begin to lose that youthful volume from our lips. However, Natalie and Janine are here to help! Using filler they can gently replenish the lost volume for a natural result you will love. In addition they can take care of the peri-oral area (the area around the lip). Filler can be used here to restore the curves to your Cupid’s bow (this reduces the longer white lip seen with age), reverse drooping corners of the mouth and fill out vertical lines above the top lip. This results in a pair of beautiful, well-groomed lips which look fab with or without a slick of colour!

Before undergoing any treatment at the Light Touch Clinic, you will be invited to a consultation. During this consultation we will assess your suitability for treatment and put together a bespoke treatment plan to help you get the perfect pout.
To ensure you receive the most natural look from your treatment, our practitioners strongly believe in replacing lost lip volume rather than adding volume that wasn’t there to begin with. This avoids the artificial, puffed-up look.
To achieve this natural look, we use Juvéderm® which is the #1 filler in the US and approved by the FDA. This filler is made from a substance found in the body called hyaluronic acid, which lubricates joints and skin. As this a natural substance, you will not need an allergy test. In addition, the body usually breaks it down over a six to twelve month period, meaning that if you are not happy with the results, the procedure is not permanent.
As this is a non-surgical, minimally invasive, treatment, you are likely to see results after a twenty-four hour period of slight swelling and tenderness*. It is recommended that during this period, ice is applied to lips regularly to speed up recovery and reduce any soreness.
Once the minor swelling has settled, your lip fillers should not feel any different from your lips before the treatment due to the natural substances used within the injections.
A few enhancement sessions might be required, depending on your current lip condition and the results you wish to achieve.

We use Juvederm® – the leading dermal fillers on the market. It isFDA-approved and temporary – this means your body should break them down over 6-12 months, so in the unlikely event you are not satisfied with the results they are not permanent. These dermal fillers are well tolerated by most people because they are made from hyaluronic acid, a natural substance in our body responsible for lubricating the skin and joints.
Your lip filler and enhancement treatment will only be administered by one of our practitioners using the latest minimally invasive techniques.
What does the treatment involve?
Small quantities of Dermal Filler are injected into the areas of the lip where results are desired. Our practitioners often use a micro-cannula to administer the filler. By using a cannula our patients benefit from less pain, less bruising, less swelling, less risk of complications and a smooth, natural-looking result.
What will my skin look like afterwards?
The effects of a lip filler and enhancement treatment are immediate but you may experience a small amount of swelling and/or bruising which may take a few days to subside.
Are Lip Fillers safe?
As long as they are administered by a trained medical practitioner who is experienced in the anatomy of the face, dermal fillers should be safe. The hyaluronic acid gel is completely natural and over time is broken down and assimilated back into the body causing no harm to you.
What are the risks and complications?
All non-invasive procedures carry a small amount of risk which is why they are only administered after a face to face consultation with one of our practitioners during which a full assessment will be carried out and a full list of cautions and contraindications discussed.
Are dermal filler injections my only option?
Before you undergo any injectable treatment you will be invited for a consultation with one of our practitioners who will analyse your lips and face and help you decide which treatment option is most suitable.
At the Light Touch Clinic, our injectable treatments are only performed by medical practitioners. We have two practitioners who carry out dermal filler and lip treatments: Dr Natalie Blakely and Janine Scott. Before your treatment you will be invited to a consultation with one of our practitioners who will determine the best way to achieve your desired result.
