The EXCELIGHT is an IPL device which uses Intense Pulsed Light for clearer, smoother and firmer skin. For our rejuvenation treatment our experienced practitioners target collagen deep within the dermis. This causes reversible micro trauma to collagen without compromising surrounding tissues. This boost in collagen production results in skin which is firmer, smoother and softer to the touch.*
In addition, the EXCELIGHT will also help clarify your skin by clearing uneven pigmentation and minimising the appearance of pores. Think of it as a real-life airbrush!*
Am I suitable for treatment?
IPL is an amazing treatment but not all patients will be suitable candidates. Before undergoing IPL treatment at the Light Touch Clinic, you will be invited for consultation and, if deemed suitable, a patch test. As IPL is targets melanin, it may not be suitable for the darkest skin tones. This is why you need to have a thorough assessment before treatment. However, do not despair if you are unsuitable IPL, there are several other treatments that we can use to rejuvenate your skin such as Tixel and INTRAcel.
Does it hurt?
Discomfort varies from person person to person.* Some find the treatment tolerable and other experience some discomfort during the procedure that feels a bit like an elastic band being pinged against the skin.*
Can I have IPL if I have a sun tan?
In short, no. IPL treatments cannot be performed on someone who has had prolonged sun exposure 2 weeks before treatment, so you should be very careful when planning IPL treatments around holidays. In addition, you will need to avoid prolonged sun exposure 2 weeks post-treatment too.
All IPL consultations will be carried out by one of our medical aestheticians.
