Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is a superficial to medium depth chemical peel that is designed to improve the appearance of your skin.
Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is a very versatile treatment allowing us to effectively improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne, acne scars, uneven tone and photodamage.
Most of our patients will have a peel to correct skin on their face. However, this peel can also be used on the décolletage and back. This makes it a popular option for those who suffer from back acne (sometimes referred to as bacne)
Salicyclic acid is the star ingredient in this peel. Salicylic acid is a Beta Hydroxy Acid and penetrates into the skin to help slough off dead skin cells and control oil. This results in brighter, smoother skin for you!
Obagi Blue Peel Radiance can be taken as a series of treatments to tackle a specific skin concern such as photo damage and acne or you can have a one-off treatment to ensure your skin is glowing before a big event such as a wedding! The treatment itself takes just 30 mins and there is very little downtime, this makes it easy to fit a Blue Peel Radiance into your busy schedule.
Befor undergoing a chemical peel treatment at the Light Touch Clinic, you will need to come in for a consultation to ensure that you are suitable for the treatment. Your Obagi Blue Peel Radiance treatment will begin with a gentle cleanse to maximise product penetration. Afterwards the peel will be applied to the skin. During this part of the treatment you may experience tingling while the acid is working. However, your practitioner will gently tap the skin and may use a fan to keep the treatment comfortable. After your peel has been neautralised, your practitioner will apply sunscreen to talk yu through aftercare procautions.

What does the treatment involve?
The procedure involves applying a chemical solution to the area of concern. The solution dissolves dead surface skin cells revealing a new layer of skin that looks fresher and more youthful.
Does it hurt?
No, although you may experience a hot, tingling or itchy sensation once the solution is on your skin. This is completely normal and should subside quickly.
What will my skin look like afterwards?
Your skin may look sunburned for a few hours and you may experience some mild peeling which could last for several days. After treatment it is important to take extra care in the sun, wearing a sunblock with an SPF30 or above.
How long before I see results?
Results are generally visible immediately.
What are the risks and complications?
All non-invasive procedures carry a small amount of risk which is why they are only administered after a face to face consultation with one of our doctors during which a full assessment will be carried out and a full list of cautions and contraindications discussed.
Are Advanced Skin Peels my only option?
No, there are several other treatments that may be more suitable for your skin concern including Medical Facials. Before you undergo any of our treatments you will be invited for a consultation with one of our doctors who will analyse your skin and help you decide which treatment option is most suitable.
Your treatment will be performed by one of our highly-trained medical aestheticians.
