How the PRP Therapy slams the brakes on wrinkles

‘After two weeks I began to see a difference. I hadn’t lost all my lines but they seemed softer and my skin looked illuminated. It’s continued to improve too – and all that after only one session.’ Fiona Adams* , Health and Beauty Editor at the Elmbridge Magazine

With flawless beauties like Kim Kardashian, Anna Friel and supermodel Bar Rafael singing its praises it’s no surprise the PRP Therapy is one of the world’s most popular non-invasive treatments and very much a game-changer in the way we treat ageing skin.

The technique – which uses platelet rich plasma taken from your blood to stimulate cell renewal and healing – has been used in sports medicine for over 20 years to help repair muscular injuries and has more recently been used to naturally rejuvenate the skin.

What happens during a PRP treatment?

A sample of your blood is taken and spun in a centrifuge. The clear bit at the top of the centrifuge is called platelet rich plasma (PRP) and contains growth factors. The PRP is injected back into the skin through hundreds of tiny injections. At this point the growth factors (which are messenger cells) tell your brain that your skin’s been damaged. The brain then tells the skin to repair itself. It does this by producing collagen and elastin, the proteins that make it smooth and firm.

What areas does it treat?

This treatment is effective at reducing dark circles, fine lines around the eyes and mouth, wrinkles on the backs of the hands, necklace lines and crepey skin on the décolletage it can also restore lost volume to the face so is a natural alternative to those who are not quite ready for dermal filler injections.

… and the downtime?

Afterwards you may experience some redness and bruising, particularly around the eyes, but this usually subsides within 1-2 weeks.
For best results we suggest 2-3 treatments and expect the results to last for up to 18 months.*

Exclusive to LTC – PRP therapy with INTRAcel

One of the problems with PRP Therapy is it requires hundreds of micro injections to get an even distribution of PRP across the face, neck and décolletage.

Dr Natalie was the first Cosmetic Doctor in the UK to combine the PRP Therapy with INTRAcel, a radio frequency micro-needling treatment, creating a quicker and more comfortable treatment.*

Dr Natalie found that applying the PRP after INTRAcel resulted in maximum absorption and even penetration due to the hundreds of tiny puncture marks already in the skin. Furthermore this combination delivered more impressive results than INTRAcel alone as the PRP boosted the production of collagen and elastin as well as helping the skin to heal more quickly.

Patients like this treatment combination because it stimulates the skin to repair and regenerate naturally over time. Results last for up to two years.*
