With not long to go until the big day, I was keen to get an INTRAcel treatment booked in to help my skin look bright and clear. As many patients know, INTRAcel is my favourite treatment and I always try to squeeze in a maintenance session or 2 every year. This treatment has two applications as it encourages your skin to renew itself from the inside out and can be used to clear up acne.
This treatment uses two technologies: microneedling and radio frequency energy. Together, they cause micro-traumas deep within the skin which kickstarts your body’s repair mechanism. This stimulates the production of stronger collagen for more supple and smoother skin. As our body stops naturally producing collagen after 30, it is definitely worthwhile investing in treatments which stimulate collagen production.
The treatment begins with a layer on numbing cream for an hour to make the treatment more comfortable.
Marisa, one of our experienced medical aesthetician team, did my INTRAcel treatment for me. The treatment itself feels a little strange, you can feel a bit of sting from the needles over the more sensitive areas like the nose. Whilst this certainly isn’t one of our indulgent facials, it is tolerable. Marisa chatted with me throughout which put me at ease. The treatment itself took around an hour in total. You might have watched some of the treatment on our Instagram page…
Some more footage from Kirsty’s INTRAcel treatment last week. This treatment is great for improving overall skin texture and taking on acne. We have a very exciting acne programme coming soon. Ever wondered how red you’ll be after INTRAcel?
Don’t worry, this redness is only temporary! This went down in a few hours and was barely noticeable the next day. However, do keep this image in mind when you schedule an INTRAcel appointment around engagements. We often recommend having an INTRAcel treatment on a Friday so your skin can get back to normal over the weekend.
As my skin will be extra sensitive during the initial recover over the next few days, it is really important that I put on high factor SPF and avoid makeup for the first 24 hours. Marisa recommended that I used Obagi Hydrate too to help my skin heal and minimise dryness.
I started noticing results around 2 weeks later. My breakout had cleared away and my skin was looking smooth and dewy. For the best results, we recommend beginning with a course of INTRAcel and then booking in annual or bi-annual top-ups to for maintenance.
Here’s a little look at how my skin is doing 2 weeks post-treatment… the team have been commenting on my glow.
