Tixel Results At Light Touch Clinic

Our medically trained team have been performing non-surgical skin rejuvenation and resurfacing treatments at our award-winning Surrey clinic since 2009 with excellent results.

The Right Skin Treatment For Your Needs

Tixel is an award-winning skin tightening and rejuvenation treatment which provides results comparable to those of a CO2 laser without the downtime. This makes it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Tixel is a customisable treatment with three unique applications, allowing us to tailor the treatment to your skin’s needs. This also makes it diverse enough to treat not only the face but the neck and hands too.

The Three Tixel Treatment Types

  • Ablative TreatmentsThis is the most popular of the three treatments and is the most effective option for treating scarring and skin tightening. The result of an ablative Tixel treatment will yield results comparable with a deep chemical peel or CO2 laser resurfacing. This option does have some downtime but after a couple of days you can leave some temporary markings on the skin. These light markings can generally be covered with make-up the next day.
  • Non-Ablative TreatmentThis treatment is a gentler option and is better suited for those who cannot take off any time to recover. This treatment can give the same skin tightening results as the ablative treatment but you will need more sessions of treatment to achieve this.
  • Open Channel TreatmentPost inflammatory hyperpigmentation, melasma? This may be the treatment for you! The Open Channel option is designed to make the skin more porous for 6 hours post-treatment. This aids the penetration of topical treatments such as hydroquinone, delivering excellent pigmentation results.

How Does Tixel Work?

Tixel is a non laser fractional treatment technology and delivers thermal energy to the skin through a grid of tiny pyramid-shaped pins covering a treatment area of 1cm squared.

This grid is pressed across the skin to stimulate collagen, tighten the skin and allow for optimised penetration of appropriate products. The grids are heated to a temperature of 400 degrees Celsius, but as scary as it sounds, it really isn’t! The treatment is perfectly safe and suitable for even sensitive skin.

We carry out each Tixel treatment having applied numbing cream beforehand, making your treatment as comfortable as possible, and virtually pain free.

Effective Acne & Acne Scarring Reduction

Acne is often caused by the skin glands producing too much oil. Dead skin cells lining skin pores also do not shed properly and clog up the follicles. Acne scars occur when the skin tries to heal lesions caused by acne which are often uneven on the surface and rough.

Tixel is a safe and effective way to treat acne and reduce acne scarring by destroying the damaged skin cells. These skin cells are then stimulated to heal and produce new collagen formations – improving overall skin quality, texture and appearance.

Melasma & Skin Pigmentation Treatment

Skin Pigmentation is caused by on over-production of melanin. It is often the result of sun damage, scarring, hormonal changes which can occur during pregnancy (melasma) or taking the contraceptive pill.

Open Channel Treatment combines advanced skincare with a Tixel treatment routine to effectively reduce the appearance of pigmentation and rejuvenate dull skin.

Anti-Ageing & Wrinkles

Due to its fantastic skin rejuvenation benefits, Tixel is able to tighten sagging facial skin to create a more taut, youthful natural look. This tightening is also highly-effective at reducing the appearance of wrinkles and deep furrows in the skin.

Aftercare Advice

Our specialist team will be on hand to provide you with personal Tixel aftercare tips and advice that’s right for you.

But there are general things to do and avoid after your treatment:

  • Your skin may feel hot (like mild sunburn) a few hours after treatment. Applying skin moisturiser can help ease this feeling.
  • Avoid using makeup for 48 hours.
  • Avoid UV sun rays for three weeks (sunlight and tanning beds)
