ULTRAcel vs Ultherapy
In this week’s blog post we are going to take a look at Ultherapy and ULTRAcel skin tightening treatments. We frequently find that customers are unsure of the distinction between the two so we thought it would make an interesting blog topic.
To begin with, both of these treatments are used to help tighten sagging skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by using Ultrasound. Ultherapy and ULTRAcel both beam Ultrasound waves into the skin to a targeted depth. This both tightens and contracts the tissue underneath, creating a lifted effect.*
However, ULTRAcel treatment adds in another step. Before applying the Ultrasound head to your skin, your doctor will use a grid radiofrequency head. Like the popular rejuvenation treatment Thermage, radiofrequency delivers heat energy into the skin to tighten skin structures and promote the production and remodelling of collagen. What this means for you is supple, tightened skin.
Another, more subtle difference, between Ultherapy and ULTRAcel is that the Ultrasound pulses are spaced further apart with ULTRAcel. This can make the treatment more comfortable for patients and can also reduce the amount of downtime, if any, that they experience.*
At the Light Touch Clinic are proud to be the very first clinic in the UK to offer ULTRAcel to our patients. What we love about this treatment is that, for most patients, there is an immediate tightening effect and this will go on to improve over the next few months. Below is a set of before and after images of one of patients who had ULTRAcel on her jowls.
Patient results may vary!*
All of our ULTRAcel treatments are performed by one of our experienced, GMC-registered doctors, all of whom have had thorough ULTRAcel training and an in-depth understanding of how the device works. During you consultation, your doctor will listen to your concerns and examine your skin to determine whether ULTRAcel is the best option for both your skin and the results you want to achieve.
