Frequently Asked Questions – Intima
As you have (hopefully) seen on social media, we now offer Intima at the Light Touch Clinic.
We have had quite a few common questions regarding our Intima treatment, so we thought it would be a good idea to put together a blog post which answers them.
Is it invasive?
Not at all. The treatment is non-invasive – no needles, no scalpels, no downtime.* The head of the machine is a small pen like device which only touches the labia.
Does it hurt?
Of course, discomfort levels do vary from person to person. But the treatment itself is very comfortable. It can get a bit warm when the head of the device passes over the skin but it is not unpleasant for most patients*. The tip itself heats up to 40 – 42 degrees Celsius. The treatment is very quick too – you can discreetly fit you appointment into your lunch break.
How does it work?
Intima uses proven radiofrequency heat technology to help remodel labia skin. The heat energy penetrates the skin to stimulate the production of collagen. This helps tighten loose tissues for firmer, smaller labia.
Who will perform the treatment?
This treatment is only performed by our medical aesthetician Melissa French who has undergone thorough training to ensure she knows the safest and latest techniques. While some of us are quite uncomfortable or even embarrassed about talking about intimate health, Melissa is very professional and friendly, she will make you feel at ease.
How many treatments will I need?
As I’m sure you understand it really does depend on the patient. But as a guideline, most patients will around 4 treatments*.
When will I see results?
This does vary as everyone is different but many of our patients noticed a difference after their first treatment!*
How successful is the treatment?
In a report on Intima published by BTL, 80% of the patients treated saw a ‘significant to excellent’ improvement in the appearance of their labia and 100% reporting some form of sexual satisfaction improvement.*
