What do you love most about your job?
I love taking the canvas of the face and devising a plan that addresses every aspect of ageing. Working in aesthetics requires both attention to detail and creativity. It’s a very exciting industry as so much can be achieved without the need for surgery.
It’s amazing how cosmetic treatments can boost a patient’s confidence. How someone looks on the outside has a massive impact on how they feel inside and portray themselves to others. It’s a very rewarding profession.
What do you think is one of the most exciting innovations in aesthetics at the moment?
Specialising in non-surgical treatments, I am very interested in technologies which boost the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. These are the building blocks of healthy skin and can refresh the skin inside-out. I’m particularly fond of Tixel, the latest treatment to join the clinic. It delivers comparable results to laser rejuvenation just with less downtime and aftercare.
What have been some of the biggest highlights of your career?
In 2012 I won the ‘Rising Star’ award at the Aesthetic Awards which was a massive achievement. This was my first industry award and the competition was incredibly tough! Over the past couple of years we have won a number of awards at MyFaceMyBody too.
I am delighted to have been featured in the Tatler Beauty and Cosmetic guide this year for neck rejuvenation treatments.
What are your top 3 skincare tips?
Firstly, wash your face properly – never with a makeup wipe! Use a cleanser and an exfoliator twice a week.
Don’t neglect your neck and décolletage when it comes to sun protection.
Invest in treatments which boost collagen production. Collagen keeps the skin supple and firm and our collagen levels deplete with age. By investing in treatments like INTRAcel and Tixel we can renew our skin from within.
