Dermaroller Micro-Needling

Dermaroller Micro-needling is an advanced micro-medical skin needling technique which stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely improving texture, elasticity and tone.

In addition to our standard Dermaroller Micro-needling treatments we also offer Dermaroller Micro-needling with Human Growth Factors.

Human Growth Factors prompt a healing response in the skin by further stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and the production of new skin cells. Applying the Human Growth Factors after Dermaroller Micro-needling ensures excellent absorption and maximum results.

How does it work?

Studies have shown that trauma to the skin through tiny puncture wounds (like those made by Dermaroller Micro-needling) stimulate the skin to repair and regenerate itself naturally and safely by prompting it to produce collagen and elastin – building blocks of smooth, youthful skin. It can take several treatments before results are visible but they generally last for many months.

Dermaroller Micro-needling is a highly effective skin resurfacing treatment that delivers excellent results on acne scars and stretch marks.

FAQ's

What does Dermaroller Microneedling involve?

The Dermaroller device is rolled across the skin several times. It makes thousands of microscopic needle holes in the dermis increasing blood flow and prompting the skin to produce collagen, elastin and new cells.

Does it hurt?

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic and is relatively pain free for most patients.

What will my skin look like afterwards?

Afterwards your skin will look red, similar to moderate sunburn. This will settle within a few hours although it may feel tight and sensitive for several days.

What happens after treatment?

We suggest you do not apply foundation and only wash your face with water for the first 24 hours to enable the skin to heal. It important you use a good quality sunscreen to provide optimum conditions for the skin to repair itself.

How long before I see results?

Many patients will see results after 6 weeks.

What are the risks and complications?

All non-invasive procedures carry a small amount of risk which is why they are only administered after a face to face consultation with one of our doctors during which a full assessment will be carried out and a full list of cautions and contraindications discussed.

Is Dermaroller Microneedling only option?

No, there are several other treatments that may be more suitable for your skin concern including INTRAcel, Micro-Meso or PRP Vampire Therapy. Before you undergo any of our treatments you will be invited for a consultation with one of our doctors who will analyse your skin and help you decide which treatment option is most suitable.
