Dr Natalie Blakely, Medical Director of the Light Touch Clinic
Does your skin look dull and tired? Do you suffer from acne or acne scarring? Then one of our Advanced Skin Peels could be perfect for you!
Our peels are renowned for rejuvenating the skin on the following areas:
As well as quickly and safely resurfacing the skin, the advanced peel also increases the production of collagen. By strengthening the main structural protein found in the skin, the treatment helps improve elasticity so your skin looks and acts younger.
All of the peels we offer to patients are based on individual needs to achieve the best possible results.
Our clinic offers three skin peel options:
A superficial light to medium peel is ideal if you’re looking for a quick and effective ‘lunchtime’ treatment. Residual redness and peeling is also minimal.
Result: Reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines while also reducing pore size. The treatment also firms up skin tone.
Product: ZO Stimulator Peel. Loved by celebrities and people looking for instant results before a glamorous night out.
A medium level skin peel is suitable to use on the face, neck, arms, legs and chest. It is our go-to peel for eliminating blemishes and acne scars.
Result: Leaves the skin tighter, smoother and more radiant. It also tackles deeper wrinkles and lines as well as treats skin pigmentation and acne.
Product: Obagi Blue Peel. Approved by the FDA to use on many areas of the body, the Obagi Blue Peel is becoming a firm favourite in clinics.
Our highly skilled practitioners will create a unique chemical peel tailored to a patient’s specific skin type and needs.
Result: The tailored skin peel is designed to address the individual needs of the patient, including sagging skin, acne, skin pigmentation and dull and tired looking skin.
Product: A combination of glycolic, salicylic and mandelic acid are used to create a highly effect bespoke treatment.

Our Advanced Skin Peels are highly effective resurfacing treatments that use a combination of acids including Trichlororoacetic Chemical Acid (TCA), Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Mandelic and Retinol to exfoliate the skin and improve cellular synthesis (the production of new skin cells).
The mild trauma caused by the peels forces the skin to repair itself and produce collagen – what this means for you is softer, smoother, more radiant skin with a reduction in acne and pigmentation.
Which Advanced Skin Peel is right for me?
We usually recommend a light to medium peel to address the appearance of acne, fine lines and pigmentation while a deep peel is more appropriate for deep wrinkles, sagging or scarring. But we prefer to have a one-on-one consultation with every patient before a peel to ensure they receive a suitable treatment.
What does the treatment involve?
The procedure involves applying a chemical solution to the area of concern. The solution dissolves dead surface skin cells revealing a new layer of skin that looks fresher and more youthful.
Does it hurt?
No, although you may experience a hot, tingling or itchy sensation once the solution is on your skin. This is completely normal and should subside quickly.
What will my skin look like afterwards?
Your skin may look sunburned for a few hours and you may experience some mild peeling which could last for several days. After treatment it is important to take extra care in the sun, wearing a sunblock with an SPF30 or above.
How long before I see results?
Results are generally visible immediately.
What are the risks and complications?
All non-invasive procedures carry a small amount of risk which is why they are only administered after a face to face consultation with one of our doctors during which a full assessment will be carried out and a full list of cautions and contraindications discussed.
Are Advanced Skin Peels my only option?
No, there are several other treatments that may be more suitable for your skin concern including Medical Facials. Before you undergo any of our treatments you will be invited for a consultation with one of our doctors who will analyse your skin and help you decide which treatment option is most suitable.
The practitioner that you see will depend on the type of peel that you are recommended. Superficial peels such as Blue Peel are performed by our aesthetician Melissa.
