Dr Blakely writes...
March 2010
February started off brilliantly as I could finally welcome my business partner, and sister, back to the clinic. For those of you that knew, Katie was taking the trip of a lifetime and sailed from America to Australia - via the Panama canal. She had a fabulous few weeks at sea and has returned thoroughly refreshed. Unfortunately, as she was not able to get to a post box I did not receive any post cards - shame!
Our February Neostrata skin peel offer has been a tremendous success. The thought of fresh, bright skin seems to really have inspired many of our clients, especially after this prolonged winter weather. The Neostrata skin peels are done as a course of 6, about one month apart and inital results have been tremendous. I can't wait to see my glamorous clientele after 6 months.
I also went across to the Channel Islands to visit Dr John Curran. He is one of only 3 Fellows of the BACD and runs a tremendously busy practice in Guernsey. Having someone like to John to discuss medicine with is very inspiring indeed. I went over on Friday night to Guernsey, after clinic, and spent the rest of the weekend with my family - lovely.
I have been busy with my professional commitments. As an associate member of the BACD (British Association of Cosmetic Doctors) I attended a local meeting of fellow cosmetic doctors. I find these meetings invaluable as it allows us to share knowledge, and also a bottle of wine!
Light Touch Clinic exhibited at the Wedding Fair on Feb 28th at the Ramada Hotel, East Horsley. We loved this event as we all understand the pressures to look good on your wedding day. For many of us, this is our one opportunity to shine. Here at Light Touch Clinic we are excited to be able to offer a vast array of products and treatments which are all medically proven to make a difference. Depending on how much time you have before your wedding day we have programmes designed to meet various timescales and budgets. Botox is always popular with the Bride to be be - but not always where you might imagine! Some brides (and grooms!) will come to us worried about excessive sweating. Weddings are often set in summer and there are always last minute stresses - why worry about damp underarms if you don't need to? Wouldn't you hate for your new husband to be a sweaty mess when he goes for the lift a la Patrick Swayze for your first dance? (If only.....)
Anyway, there is a little bit of Light Touch News. Don't forget about our coffee mornings. We have had a terrific response and only have a few spaces left. The first coffee morning is on March 18th at 10.30am and is about Botox and Dermal Fillers. There will be a small presentation followed by a live demonstration and the opportunity to ask questions. The second coffee morning is on April 22nd and is about Sculptra - "The liquid face lift", again there will be a short presentation and a live demonstration.
I look forward to welcoming you into our clinic,
Dr Natalie Blakely
Sculptra is at 10.30am Thursday April 22nd
