CoolSculpting vs other fat freezing machines

With various fat-freezing treatments around, what makes CoolSculpting the industry leader and our choice of fat-freezing machine at the Light Touch Clinic?

It’s the ONLY FDA-Approved fat freezing machine in the world

The aesthetics industry in the UK is not tightly regulated. This can lead to unscrupulous practitioners and substandard treatments. For example, anyone can perform dermal filler treatments despite having no medical training. Fortunately, the USA are a little more ‘on it’ when it comes to aesthetics.

When looking at a cosmetic treatments, one good thing to look out for is FDA-approval.  Short for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the FDA examines and rigorously tests medical devices, drugs and items. CoolSculpting is currently the only fat-freezing treatment in the world which has been approved by the FDA. While there may be cheaper options out there using similar processes to CoolSculpting, these machines cannot piggyback on CoolSculpting’s FDA clearance without undergoing the same rigorous FDA clearance process that CoolSculpting has.

Proven technology

CoolSculpting is scientifically-proven and it’s backed up by peer-reviewed research papers and clinical studies, which you can read online here:

No other ‘fat freezing machine’ can cite as many, if any, authoritative proof sources as evidence of the safety and effectiveness of their technology.

In addition, CoolSculpting have also conducted studies into the long-term results of their treatments by looking at patients 9 years post-treatment. You can read more about this and see the long term results in our blog post.

CoolSculpting has a number of in-built safety features which make it one of the safest ways to remove stubborn fat for good. The machine has an in-built temperature sensor called Freeze Detect which constantly monitors the temperature of your skin: we want the fat to freeze, not the skin. If the skin temperature begins to get too low, the machine will automatically turn itself off to prevent freeze burn.

While there are many treatments out there which claim to do the ‘same as CoolSculpting’ and even use similar names, these fat-freezing treatments do not feature cryolipolysis technology. Cryolipolysis is a term trademarked by Zeltiq and refers to CoolSculpting patented technology.

Rigorous training is given to practitioners from CoolSculpting

One of the great things about CoolSculpting is that all practitioners must be certified through the CoolSculpting training program. This ensures that practitioners understand how the machine works and how to sculpt the perfect figure. In addition, regular, thorough training ensures that they know the safest techniques and any contraindications.
