When it comes to cosmetic treatments, Dr Natalie urges the public to think very carefully before choosing a cosmetic practitioner. You should look for someone who is medically qualified, has positive reader testimonials and registered with the CQC. The CQC, short for Care Quality Commission, inspect, monitor and regulate health care providers such as hospitals, GPs and care homes. They demand the highest standards of patient safety and expertise.
Dr Natalie was inspired to make this video after seeing an offer for discounted lip filler on the internet. A practitioner was offering to split a syringe of filler between two patients for a discounted fee. This isn’t safe and is very unethical as it can lead the spread of diseases and infections.
If an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is.
When you are paying for a cosmetic treatment you are not only paying for the procedure but you are also paying for the practitioner’s knowledge and expertise. Choose a practitioner with a thorough consultation process and be sure to ask questions. You do not need to decide on the day if you would like to have a treatment and should never feel pressured to make your decision there and then.
Your face is an investment. #ChooseWisely
